AA: AKA Auto Apply
My attempt at bringing forth a New Solution & Perspective to the Modern Job Hiring Process
Computers were built to make our lives easier. Because modern corporations have deep pockets, they have purchased sophisticated software (Applicant Tracking Systems, or ATS) to make scanning, filtering, and rejecting candidates completely automated.
Individuals looking for work are provided ZERO tools, knowledge, software, help, insight, or really even say into anything hiring related. You are expected to manually, repeatedly fill out job application after job application—typing your work history into 100 different portals—only to have your resume evaluated by a computer anyway.
It begged the question: If computers are a tool to help companies find the right candidate, where is the tool to help regular people find the right job?
That is why I built AA (AutoApply).
I have been battling the "modern hiring process" for years, and frankly, I was exhausted. I scoured the internet for a tool that could actually automate the application process for me. While I found a few options, they all had a catch. They either charged absurd subscription fees, or they offered a "Free" tier that covertly harvested and sold your highly personal data.
At the cost of your personal privacy, these tools gave you limited, copyrighted access to software that might help you(these companies can just say they applied for you and send you fake "thanks for applying emails"). I realized that if I wanted a tool that actually had the candidate's best interest at heart, I was going to have to build it myself.
So, I took a step back and spent the last three years designing, architecting, and writing the codebase for AA.
My goal was simple: build a 100% FREE tool that helps individuals get jobs. I wanted to make something so undeniably useful and secure that there was absolutely no reason not to use it. AutoApply can find the jobs you seek, vet them against your personal criteria (from commute distances to salary requirements), and autonomously fill out the applications.
As someone who is entirely self-taught, I knew there was only so much I could account for on my own. That is why I made AutoApply completely open-source. By making the code accessible to anyone and everyone, my hope is that other engineers can contribute, add new ATS platforms, and make the necessary changes to accommodate every type of job seeker out there.
I hate when people say a project is "coming soon," so I am committing to releasing the final, stable version of this within two months. I can't wait for you all to use it.
